Ingredients

  • ¾ cup Mariani Sweetened Dried Cherries
  • 1 ½ cups old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ cup brown sugar, packed
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons milk (or plant-based alternative)
  • ½ cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Whisk together the oats, flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon in a medium bowl until well combined.
  • In a separate large bowl, use a hand mixer or wooden spoon to cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Mix in the egg, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth.
  • Fold the dry ingredients gradually into the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Gently fold in the Mariani Sweetened Dried Cherries and chopped walnuts (if using).
  • Scoop the dough into tablespoon-sized balls and place them about 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake for 12-14 minutes, or until the cookies are golden around the edges but still soft in the center. Let them cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  • Pro Tip: For a bakery-style finish, press a few extra Mariani Sweetened Dried Cherries onto the tops of the cookies before baking.
  • Enjoy!
