5 pitted Medjool dates - soaked in hot water (to soften)
3 small avocados (ripe) or 2 larger avocados – peeled, pitted, and halved
¼ c raw cacao powder (or cocoa powder)
¼ c melted dark chocolate
½ c unsweetened vanilla almond milk
½ tsp cinnamon
Pinch of sea salt
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
Optional: pinch of cayenne
1. Place dates in small bowl and cover with hot water. Let sit 5 minutes to soften. Remove and discard water.
2. Next, place everything in a food processor. Pulse a few times to break everything down and then run the machine until everything is smooth. You may want to stop a few times and scrape down the sides of the machine.
3. Pour into small cups or ramekins and refrigerate for 25 minutes or longer.
4. Top with whipped cream (or whipped coconut cream) and chocolate shavings.
