Dried Apricot Turkey Burger
Ingredients
- 1⁄4 lb ground turkey
- 1⁄4 cup finely chopped Mariani Dried Apricots
- 1⁄4 cup whole wheat breadcrumbs
- 1⁄4 cup finely chopped red onion
- 1⁄4 cup finely chopped fresh parsley
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 egg white
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- 4 whole wheat burger buns
- Lettuce, tomato slices, avocado (optional, for serving)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, chopped apricots, breadcrumbs, red onion, parsley, garlic, egg white, salt, and black pepper. Mix until all ingredients are just combined. Be careful to not overmix to keep the burgers tender.
- Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions. Shape each portion into a patty, about 1/2 inch thick.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the turkey patties and cook for about 5 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the burgers are no longer pink in the center.
- Serve the turkey burgers on whole wheat buns. Add your favorite toppings, such as lettuce, tomato and avocado.
